HARVEY JOHN LESKA LENTH

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, August 13, 1968 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Luana for Harvey J. L. Lenth, who passed away August 9, 1968 at the Community Memorial Hospital. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery. The Rev. Michael L. Sherer was in charge of the rites.

Harvey John Leska Lenth was born June 25, 1915 in Wagner Township, Clayton County, Iowa, the son of Gustav J. and Anna Martins Lenth. He was baptized in Saint John Lutheran Church, Luana, on September 10, 1915.

He attended the Gooding Rural school near Farmersburg. A lifelong member of the Lutheran Church, he was confirmed in Saint John Church, Farmersburg on June 30, 1929.

On December 19, 1936 he was united in marriage with the former Ruth Meyer, in Zion Lutheran Church, Castalia. To them were born two sons, Richard (Cedar Rapids) and Jerome (Postville), and one daughter, Jeanine (living at home).

Harvey was a member of Saint John Lutheran Church, Luana, since 1937.

Along with both parents, wife, and children, he leaves to mourn two brothers, Harold (Farmersburg) and Lloyd (Elkader), a sister, Bernita (Mrs. Gerhardt Landgrebe of Miller, South Dakota); two grandsons, Bradley and Brian Lenth; and two granddaughters Deanne and Debra Lenth.
