MRS. WALTER (Carrie Meyer) KAISER

Carrie Meyer, the daughter of Henry C. Meyer and Augusta nee Henning, was born December 6, 1897, at Garnavillo, Iowa. She was baptized on April 17, 1898, at Garnavillo by Pastor Sommerlad and was confirmed at Elkader by Pastor Franke.

She attended the schools in the Garnavillo area and also attended Wartburg College, Waverly, Iowa.

On September 30, 1944, she was united in marriage with Walter Kaiser. They lived on a farm just east of Monona until they retired to town in 1964.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and was active in the work of the Faith Circle of the ALCW.

Carrie fell in her home two weeks ago and passed away on Saturday, August 19, 1972 at the age of 74 years, 8 months and 13 days.

Her husband, Walter, passed away just two months ago on June 23.

Surviving are a sister-in-law, Mrs. Eldred Schlitter, and a brother-in-law, Alvin Kaiser, and an aunt, Mrs. Carrie Meyer of Garnavillo.

Services were held at St. Paul Lutheran Church on Tuesday, at 1:30 p.m. with burial in the city cemetery. Pallbearers were Carlyle V. Reeg, Joe Mista, Donald Schmidt, Reuben Hoth, A.D. Whittle, Fred Miene, Marvin Zittergruen and Willis Lamker.
