Funeral services for Adeline Adney were held Tuesday, June 16, 1998, 1:30 p.m. at Garden City United Methodist church, Monona. Dr. Gary Dobbins officiated. Organist was Mrs. Priscilla Miene and guitarist was Jon Simpson. Pallbearers were Laone Kishman, Greg Tangeman, Derrick Peters, Aaron Adney, Arlyn Adney and Adam Lange. Honorary pallbearers were Gretrude (sic) Lovig, Bob & Irene Benzing, Ray Grady, Bob Quick, Lyle Ernster, Bill Quick, Ray Koth and Floyd & Hazel Wilkins. Burial was in Council Hill Cemetery, rural Monona. Schultz's Funeral Home of Monona was in charge of services.

Adeline Katherine Adney, daughter of Henry G. and Emma (Wickersheim) Kamp, was born January 19, 1914 in Giard Township, Clayton County, IA. She attended Cooper Valley School and graduated from Monona High School in 1930.

Adeline was united in marriage to Archie Adney on October 31, 1933 at Oelwein, IA. She was a seamstress and enjoyed cake decorating, arts & crafts, scrapbooks, hummingbirds, and doing bead work.

Adeline died Saturday, June 13, 1998 at Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital, Prairie du Chien, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Bernice Ayers; a brother, Harold Kamp; a son, Alton, who died in infancy; a son-in-law, Fred Tangeman; a grandson, Timothy Tangeman; and two great grandsons, Ryan & Ross Wilke.

Survivors include her husband, Archie; three daughters and their husbands, June and Bernell Larson of McGregor, IA; Myrna and Gene Schmelzer of Garnavillo, IA; and Sharon and Eugene Peters of Monona, IA; one son and his wife, Allen and LaVerna Adney of McGregor, IA; 14 grandchildren, Carlean Lange, Duana Atherton, Laone Kishman, Junell Chase, Greg Tangeman, Denise Wilke, Brenda Reynolds, Monica Tangeman, Linda Christofferson, Derrick Peters, Lynette Pape, Luanne Simpson, Aaron Adney and Arlyn Adney; 28 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
