ERNEST LENTH
Funeral services for Ernest Louis Lenth, 79, were held Wednesday, Jan. 14, 1981 at 1 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona with the Rev. Harold Ward and the Rev. Henry Knoploh officiating. Burial was in Monona City Cemetery.
Ernest Lenth was the son of John P. and Dorothea (Harnack) Lenth, born Feb. 12, 1901 near Luana. He was baptized Oct. 20, 1901 and confirmed April 16, 1916 at Luana.
He attended Monona Township Evergreen rural school. March 22, 1922, he married Lucellia Ihde at her parents' home. They farmed west of Monona until retiring in 1967, at which time they moved to Monona.
He died Sunday, Jan. 11 at Community Memorial Hospital in Postville.
Preceeding him in death were his parents, brother Wilbert, Sr., and sister Hilda Miller. Surviving him is his wife; daughter, Mrs. Dwayne (Arah) Carlson, St. Olaf; three grandchildren; one great-grandson; three sisters, Ella Jarms, McGregor; Nora Habericter and Esther Palas, both of Monona; five brothers, Gus and Louis of Postville; Elmer, John and Herb, all of Monona.
