Services Held for Edward Schnieder
Services for Edward J. Schnieder, 90, of Guttenberg were conducted by the Rev. Paul Peters at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Mr. Schnieder, a resident of the Guttenberg Care Center, died Tuesday Dec. 10, 1985 at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital.
Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, where military rites were accorded. Pallbearers were Jim Kuempel, Jim Jacobs, Delos Weseman and Herman Walke.
The scripture wake service was held Thursday evening at the Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home.
Mr. Schnieder was born Nov. 22, 1895, a son of Henry and Pauline (Moser) Schnieder. He was married Oct. 28, 1925 in Guttenberg to Sylvia Rodenberg, who died June 13, 1985. He had been employed at Enderes Tool Co. He served in the army in World War I.
Surviving are two sons, Alan Schnieder of Anamosa and Orville Schnieder of Sparland, Ill. a daughter, Mrs. Irven (Audrey “Susie”) Hale of Guttenberg; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Alfred (Shirley) Hansen on June 29, 1980.
