Schnieder Rites Held

Alfred J. “Curly” Schnieder, 77, Guttenberg, died Wednesday morning, May 22, at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital.

Services were conducted by the Rev. L.R. Lechner Friday, May 24, at St. John’s Lutheran Church with burial in Guttenberg City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Earl Herzog, Keith Crubaugh, Ervin Handke, and Vyrle Abbott.

Visitation was Thursday, May 23, at the Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home.

Mr. Schnieder was a son of Henry and Pauline (Moser) Schnieder and was born in Guttenberg Aug. 21, 1907. He was married Sept. 14, 1940 at McGregor to Anna Hoffman, who survives. He had been employed at Guttenberg Canning Co., Hilton Mobile Homes, Riverview Care Center and Clayton Craft before retiring. He was a member of St. John’s Church.

Surviving, besides his wife, Anna, are a daughter, Mrs. Don (Carol) Schirm of Marion, and a brother, Edward Schnieder of Guttenberg.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
