Funeral Services Held May 5 For Ed Ashline
Funeral services were held at the Platt funeral home last Thursday afternoon for Wilson Edward Ashline whose death occured at his farm home northwest of Volga on May 2, following a brief illness. the services were conducted by the Rev. A. H. Meyer, pastor of the Zion Methodist Church near Colesburg and former pastor at Wood. Burial was made in the Edgewood cemtery.
Wilson Edward Ashline, the son of William Ashline and his wife Sarah Ashline, was born in Clayton County on October 12, 1880 and died May 2, 1938, following a stroke suffered on the last day of April. He was 57 years, six months and 21 days old at the time of his passing. His entire life was spent in the vicinity of Wood except for four years at Clarkville and near Volga.
On October 10, 1908 he united in marriage with Miss Mabel Wiltse and to this union five children were born, one of whom died in infancy. Surviving are the widow and the two sons and two daughters, Dale, Dean and Shirley at home and Mrs. E. R. Morgan of Alma, Arkansas and one granddaughter, also one sister, Mrs. Charles Ash and many other relatives in this vicinity.
Mr. Ashline was a farmer. He was held in great respect by all whom his life came in contact and his loss is mourned by many besides his family circle, where he will be greatly missed.
