LARGE NUMBER PAY RESPECT TO RUDOLPH MOSER
Funeral services for Rudolph Moser were held Thursday afternoon at the Methodist church with the Rev. F. V. Getty conducting the service. The funeral sermon was delivered by Rev. T. J. Elwick of Decorah who served many years in the local pastorate. "Rock of Ages" and "Abide With Me" were sung by Messrs. R. W. Dutton, W. A. Luse, Gorda Gill and Rev. T. J. Elwick with Miss Joyce Preston at the organ. Casket bearers were Alvin Stamp, George Tucker, Martin Baumgartner, Clarence Campbell, B. W. Talcott and Herman Ackman. Interment was in the Strawberry Point cemetery.

Rudolph Moser, youngest son of Nicholas and Elizabeth Moser, was born December 6, 1864 in the village of Brunenthal, Canton of Solothurn, Switzerland where he grew to boyhood. In 1880, at the age of 15, he came alone to the United States, going to Wilmington, Illinois, where he worked for a number of years on the farm of a cousin. He moved to Colesburg, Iowa, later acquiring a farm in the vicinity of Greeley, and in 1903 he moved to the farm now occupied by Richard Homewood, northwest of Strawberry Point. Mr. Moser retired from active farming in 1917 and in 1920 moved to Strawberry Point where he resided continually until his death.

On Jan. 7, 1892 Mr. Moser was married to Anna Kurrelmeyer. To this marriage were born eight children, Clarence, Lorena Homewood and Elsie Buls of Strawberry Point, Roy who died in 1902 at the age of 4, Walter of Bangor, Michigan, Floyd and Zelma Hill of Farmersburg and Harold of St. Paul, Minn.

He leaves to mourn his death in addition to his wife and children, eight grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Henry Kurrelmeyer of Colesburg and one brother, Jacob Moser of Oneida, besides many other relatives and unnumbered friends.

As a young man, Mr. Moser embraced the Christian faith.

Mr. Moser's death at the Oelwein hospital Feb. 14 was wholly unexpected by his family and the community. But a few days previous he had been up and about town making his customary vists with friends. Monday he complained of difficulty with his breathing and that day was taken to Oelwein for treatment. Death due to heart disease overtook him while he was engaged in a spirited conversation with hospital attendants.
