WILLIAM JOHN KURDELMEIER

W. Kurdelmeier Passes Away

Funeral services for William J. Kurdelmeier, 77, were held Friday, October 19, 1979, at St. John Lutheran Church, Farmersburg, with Pastor Karl Hansen officiating. Pallbearers were Roger Henkes, Marlyn Henderson, Foster Koth, Robert Smith, Bill Reardon, Jerry Stence, Tom Grady and Jim Johnson. Organist was Mrs. James Walter and the choir sang. Burial was in the Clayton Center Cemetery. Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona, was in charge of services.

William John Kurdelmeier, son of George and Caroline (Ihde) Kurdelmeier, was born June 21, 1902, in Read Township, Clayton County. He was baptized and confirmed at the Clayton Center Lutheran Church. He attended school in the area.

On September 2, 1924, he was united in marriage to Margaret Adams. To this union three children were born, Iva Nell Cora, William John and Robert Chester.

For most of his life, he farmed, but he also did some carpentry and owned a business in St. Olaf for a time. William had been in ill health and died at his home Wednesday, October 17, 1979. Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Arno.

Surviving are his loving wife, Margaret; his daughter, IvaNell Althoff of Waukon; his two sons, William of Dowagiac, Michigan, and Robert of Monona; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Charlotte Whittle of Monona, Mrs. Cora Wagner of Farmersburg and Mrs. Rosalyn Liddy of Littleport. He will be sadly missed by those near and dear to him.
