HENRY LUCIUS WALDO LAID TO REST IN THE EARLVILLE CEMETERY
Henry Lucius Waldo, son of Lucius and Martha Waldo, was born at Earlville, Iowa, September 17,1867. His death occured on September 13, 1943, just four days before his 76th birthday.
His boyhood was spent in the neighborhood of Almoral and he attended school there. His entire life was spent chiefly in Clayton and Delaware Counties.
His business connections included several years as a hardware merchant in Edgewood, a clerk in the Stearns & McCormick Store in Manchester, farming, and in his later years he operated a gasoline filling station in Edgewood, in which he was engaged at the time of his death.
He was united in marriage to Miss Kate Knight of Strawberry Point. In a short while after their marriage she was invalided and remained so for 26 years until her death on October 6, 1933. On April 29, 1941 he uited in marriage with Mrs. Bertha Sprague.
Surviving are his wife, cousins, nephews and nieces.
Funeral services were conducted in the Methodist Church here on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. They were in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Thomas H. Smith, assited by Rev. A. H. Meyer. Instrumental music for the service was played by Mrs. Arthur Welterien. Burial was made in the Earlville Cemetery.

Casket attendants were Rollin Davey, John Clute, George Baskerville, Andrew Faust of Earlville, Herman Ackman and Lewis Fry.
Relatives from away who came to attend the funeral services for Mr. Henry Waldo were Mr. and Mrs. Rollin Davey, Mr.and Mrs. Andrew Faust, John Clute, Mr. and Mrs. George Baskerville of Earlville, Mrs. Merton Phelps, Mrs. Martin Phelps, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Phelps of Colesburg, Mrs. Carroll Wittman of Dubuque, Mrs. Matt Malone and Lila of Manchester.
