FUNERAL FOR RAY FOSTER WAS HELD LAST THURSDAY
On August 3rd, 1880 at Edgewood, in Clayton County, Iowa, a son, Ray Stephen, was born to Mr. and Mrs. James Foster. He received his education and grew to manhood in this community.
On November 14th, 1906 he was married to Edith L. Seward. A daughter, Nina L. was born to them on May 18th, 1911; and on December 21st, 1913 a second daughter, Alberta L. was born.
Of his father's family, two brothers and his parents preceded him in death, leaving only one sister, Mrs. Kittie Burroughs to miss his presence here.One grandson, Michael Rae, and a granddaughter, Constance E. Gibbs, mourn his going as do the daughters and the loving wife; also Raymond Robinson, of whom he was very fond.
Six nephews and a son-in-law also survive.
Many friends and other relatives will feel the loss of this lover of nature and of his fellow man.Death came quite suddenly and unexpectedly Monday, May 18 a very short while after he was taken ill. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Foster farm home in charge of the Rev. Thos. Smith, pastor of the Methodist Church. The casket bearers were these six nephews: Orley James, Cooney and Percy Foster and Foster and Floyd Burroughs. Burial was in the Edgewood Cemtery.
