Funeral services were held for Fredena M. Schrader, 83, of Monona, Sept. 20 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Luana. The Rev. Ted Ager officiated.
Pall bearers were Alan Lembke, Larry Lembke, Douglas Schrader, David Schrader, Steve Pelka, Wayne Hanson, David Brandt, Bill Murphy and Hall Everman. Burial was in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Schultz's Funeral home was in charge of services.
She was born May 22, 1903 at Luana, the daughter of Henry and Caroline Kragel Krueger. She was baptized July 19, 1903 and confirmed April 16, 1916 at St. John's Lutheran Church. She received her education at Luana Public School.
Sept. 5, 1929 she married Eldo C. Schrader at her farm home in rural Luana. The couple had 2 children and farmed south of Luana until Eldo's death, Dec. 29, 1951. She moved to Monona in 1954 and resided there until the time of her death.
She was a life-long member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Luana and the ALCW. She enjoyed card clubs and belonged to the Holiday Club in Monona. She had a great interest in genealogy and spent much time researching her family's history. She died at Central Community Hospital in Elkader Sept. 17, following a long illness.
Preceding her in death was her husband and 5 brothers Rudolph, Alvine, Carl, Art and Edgar.
Surviving is her son Ronald of Luana and her daughter Mrs. Norbert (Eileen) Lembke of Monona, 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Reinhold (Melinda) Voelz of Nashua.
