JOHN AUGUST HERMAN LENTH
Funeral Services were held for John A. Lenth, 87, Jan. 31, 1981 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona. The Rev. Harold Ward and the Rev. Henry Knoploh officiated. Burial was in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
John August Herman Lenth, the son of John P. and Dorothea (Harnack) Lenth, was born Oct. 23, 1893 and was baptized Feb. 25, 1894 in Clayton Center. He was confirmed April 8, 1906 in St. John's Lutheran Church, Luana by Rev. Wm. Paulsen.
Feb. 10, 1915 he was married to Selma Radloff. They were married for 65 years. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran brotherhood and served on the board of directors of the Luana Savings Bank for many years. They farmed south of Monona until retiring to Monona in 1939. He died at Community Memorial Hospital, Postville.
Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers, Wilbert and Ernest and one sister, Hilda Miller.
He is survived by his wife; three sisters, Ella Jarms, McGregor; Esther Palas and Nora Haberichter both of Monona; and four brothers, Gus and Louis of Postville, and Elmer and Herbert of Monona.
