MRS. HENRY (Caroline Charlotte Louise Kregel) KRUEGER

Mrs. Caroline Krueger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kregel, was born June 17, 1861, in Germany. When 4 years old she with her parents came to America and settled near Guttenberg. She was united in marriage to Henry Krueger, who preceded her in death Dec. 16, 1925. To this union seven children were born. She had been a sufferer of diabetes for years and on Sunday, March 4th, she was taken suddenly ill with influenza of the stomach and passed away on Friday night, March 9th, about 11 o'clock at her home south of town, at the age of 66 years, 8 months and 22 days. She leaves to mourn her departure six children, Rudolph and Alvin, living near Giard, Edgar in Luana, Mrs. Reinhold Voelz at Farmersburg, Paul and Fredina at home; also three grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Louis Kamin, near Floyd, and other relatives and friends. Funeral was held at the Evangelical Lutheran church at Luana, Monday afternoon. Interment in the Lutheran cemetery.

A BELOVED LUANA LADY CALLED TO HER REWARD

Caroline Charlotte Louise, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kregel, was born in Germany, June 17, 1861 Her parents were members of the Lutheran church and there they had their child baptized. At the age of four years she came to America with her parents. The first nine years her father worked on farms near Guttenberg and then bought a farm south of Garnavillo. She received her christian education in the Lutheran church at Ceres, where she was confirmed.

May 16, 1884, she was united in marriage with Henry Krueger, who had come from Germany the same year. They returned to Germany and resided four years and again came back to America, living for six years on the Busacker farm and then purchased a farm south of Luana, which remained their home during the rest of their earthly pilgrimage.

To them were born seven children, all of whom are living except one son, Arthur, who died in France during the World War. Those surviving are Rudolf and Alvin of Giard; Edgar of Luana; Mrs. Reinhold Foels of Farmersburg; Paul and Fredina at home. She is also survived by three grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Louis Kamin of Rudd. Her husband died December 16th, 1925.

Krueger passed away at 11 o'clock Friday evening, March 9, 1928, aged 66 years, eight months and 22 days.

The funeral was held from St. John's Lutheran church Monday afternoon, March 12, Rev. H. P. Kumpf officiating. Interment in the Lutheran cemetery.
