Thomas Ricketts of McGregor, died at his home on Swede Ridge Sunday morning at 2:00 c'clock, March 11th, at the age of 63 years, 3 months and 13 days. He was born in 1870 in Warwickshire in England and came to the U.S. in July 1889, living near McGregor about 24 years.

He was married March 9th, 1899, to Ellen Barker in Onawa, Monona County, Iowa. He was confirmed in the English church at the age of 12 and afterward united with the Methodist church on Pleasant Ridge near McGregor, but the last few years he was affiliated with the English Lutheran church near his present home.

He is survived by his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Ray Canoe, son James, and 3 grandchildren. One daughter, Lillian, aged 9 months and 5 days, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the English Lutheran Church on Swede Ridge, the Rev. Strandjord of St. Olaf officiating. Burial was in the Swedish cemetery.
