Death of Mrs. Christen
Mrs. Jake Christen died at her home in Marion township, Clayton county, Monday, September 29, at the age of thirty-eight years. She was born in Switzerland and her maiden name was Marie Theus.

She was first married to John Christen and became the mother of one child through this union. After the death of her husband she was married to his brother, Jake Christen and they were the parents of five children, the last one being born dead last Friday morning, September 26. Extreme hemorrhage was the cause of the mother's death.

The funeral was held today from the Apostolic church, the Freiburghaus & Co. undertaker having charge of the services.

The wife and mother will be missed in the home, especially by the young children who are thus bereft of a mother's care in their tender years.
