MRS. CLEMENS IS LAID TO REST AT EDGEWOOD MON.
Mrs. Ida Mae Clemens passed away Saturday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lila Curtis of Cedar Falls at the age of 73 years, following a short illness. Mrs. Clemens had been failing for the last two years but was bedfast for only four weeks. She had a very weak heart and failing rapidly the last few days, being in a coma for 48 hours and did not rally.
Mrs. Clemens, nee Mills, was the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Saran Mills, who preceded her in death when she was only a snall child. She then made her home with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Burgin. She was born in Clayton county near Edgewood on Nov. 27 1865 and spent all but the last few years of her life in this vicinity. she became a member of the Methodist church in Cedar Falls about 12 years ago.
On September 19, 1884, she was united in marriage to Lincoln Clemens. To this union were born five children. She was preceded in death by two sons, Ernest and Vernon and one daughter, Iva.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Verda Lathrop and Mrs. Lila Curtis and one grandson, Robert Curtis, all of Cedar Falls, besides many relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Edgewood cemetery and were conducted by the Rev.R. T. Richardson Gray, pastor of the Congregational church. Mrs. Fred Smith and Mrs. Ray Minkler sang, "Rock of Ages" and "God Be With You" and Mr. D. E. Rhines and his daughters, June Evelyn and Wanda Mae sang "Abide With Me." Casket attendants were Everett E. Smithm J. C. Amling, W. F. Duncan and E. A. Sharp.
