Former Resident Dies at Delhi

William Blake, life-long resident of Strawberry Point until ten years ago, died Saturday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Barnes at Delhi. He was 83 years old.

Mr. Blake, who in his earlier years was on a farm and later was a local real estate man, had been in poor health since two years ago when he suffered a stroke.

Funeral services were held Monday at the Gill Chapel and burial was in the Strawberry Point cemetery. The Rev. W. D. Bostrom, pastor of the Delhi Methodist church was in charge, and pallbearers were friends of the deceased from Delhi.

Mr. Blake was born at Strawberry Point on July 2, 1855. He was married to Carlie Damon, Feb. 18, 1875. Mrs. Blake died in 1884. Surviving beside the daughter are one sister, Mrs. George Sloan of Strawberry Point and one brother, Fred Blake of Chicago.
