DEATH CALL WM. H. MANCHESTER AT HIS HOME WEST OF TOWN
Wm. H. Manchester, 47 year old farmer four miles west of Strawberry Point, died at his home Monday following a long illness. He submitted to an operation in Waterloo several months ago and it was known at that time that his condition was serious.Mr. Manchester was born May 24, 1898 in Putnam township, Fayette county, and spent his entire life in the township. He is survived by his aged father, Wm. R. Manchester, his wife, the former Martha Crist to whom he was married June 18, 1924, and six children, Darlene, Mary Ann, Beulah May, Lewis, Marlin and Ronald. He also leaves a sister, Addie Smith of Lamont.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at two o'clock in the Gill Chapel. Rev. R. Park Anderson was in charge. Burial was in the Strawberry Point cemetery. Pallbearers were Lewis Drahn, Carl Fuhrman, Will Gladwin, Conrad Kleinlein, Ernest Burrack and John Kray.
