LORENZ WILHELM HEINRICK LENTH

Services were held for Lorenz Lenth Monday, April 4, 1983 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona with Pastor Harold O. Ward officiating. Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona was in charge of services.

Lorenz Wilhelm Heinrick Lenth, the son of Joachim and Caroline Lembke Lenth, was born January 19, 1899 at Luana, Iowa. He was baptized and later confirmed on March 16, 1913 by Rev. W. Paulson of St. John Lutheran Church, Luana. He received his education in the area schools.

On November 14, 1923 he was united in marriage to Adele Fascher at her parents' home. To this union three children were born.

During his lifetime he farmed and upon retiring to Monona became a carpenter and masonry man. When his health permitted he was active in St. Paul Brotherhood. He died Friday, April 1, 1983 at the Community Memorial Hospital, Postville, Iowa, at the age of 84 years, 2 months and 12 days.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his infant son Wayne Lowell in 1939, four sisters, Selma Seidel, Vera Sass, Orpha Kuthe, Delphina Buraas, four brothers, Arthur, Edwin, Lester, Harry and two who died in infancy.

Surviving are his wife Adele, his daughter, Mrs. LaVerne (Ivanelle) Garms and his son Lorenz, Jr., both of Luana, 10 grandchildren, Wayne and Keith Garms, Judy Garms Carlson, Kristy and Laurie Garms, Rick, Larry, Gary, James Lenth, Pamela Lenth Huddon and eight great-grandchildren.
