EDGAR GEORGE ZIEGLER
Funeral services for Edgar Ziegler were Friday at Garden City United Methodist Church in Monona. Rev. Gary Dobbins officiated. Organist was Ric Benzing and soloist was Carole Gerdes.
Interment was in the Monona City Cemetery. Schultz's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Masonic rites were conducted Thursday 13 at 8 p.m. Brotherly Love Masonic Lodge 204 was in charge.
Edgar George Ziegler was born Sept. 1, 1894 near Luana. His parents were John Henry and Anna Maria Ziegler.
He died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 1990 at Grinnell General Hospital, Grinnell.
He was baptized and confirmed at Luana Lutheran church. He received his education in rural Clayton County schools.
Sept. 26, 1921 he married Carrie Ellen Biggs in Dubuque. The couple lived and farmed in Grand Meadow Twp. near Luana. They moved into Monona in 1951. He continued farming in the Farmersburg area for many years.
Surviving is his wife, Carrie; a daughter, Olganida (Mrs. Dan Gruber), New Sharon; 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and one sister, Edna Reinhardt of Postville.
Pallbearers were Weber Ziegler, Jr., Wayne Ziegler, Don Ziegler, Darwin Zielger, Paul Barnhardt, George Bieber, Douglas Baade and Greg Larkin.
