Mrs. CHARLES (Ione Mary Lamborn) ZIEGLER
Ione Mary Ziegler was born January 27, 1914 in Franklin twp., Allamakee county, Iowa to parents Don and Libby Clark Lamborn.
She died Saturday, March 17, 1990 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, Iowa following a brief illness.
She was baptized and confirmed in the Methodist faith. She graduated from Luana consolidated school. She entered Luther College in Decorah and received a teaching certificate in 1932. She taught school at the Red Country school for three years.
On August 23, 1937 she was married to Charles Ziegler in the United Methodist (Brick) Church in Monona by Rev. George Turner. The couple farmed north of Luana near Hardin from 1937 to 1980. They moved to their home in Luana in Feb. of 1980.
Preceding her in death was an infant daughter, Darla, who died June 15, 1940 and one brother, Donald Lamborn.
Surviving is her husband, Charles; one brother, Lloyd of Luana.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 1990 at Garden City United Methodist Church in Monona. Rev. Gary Dobbins officiating. Organist Priscilla Miene. Burial was in Luana City Cemetery, Luana, Iowa. Pallbearers were: Joe Moore, Marvin Miller, Ralph Bacon, Orville Meyer, Robert Keehner, Ewald Walch, Roger Russett, Harva Oelberg, Hartley Enyart, Sr., Bernard Sadler and Wayne Chamberlain.
