Mrs. GEORGE (Dorothea Magdalena Maack) ZIEGLER

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at St. John's Lutheran Church in Luana for Mrs. Dorothea Ziegler, 74, who passed away at her home in Luana on Saturday afternoon. Burial was made in the Luana cemetery.

Margaret Dorothea Magdalena was born the daughter of Christian and Margaret, nee Luetje, Maack, June 17, 1879 in Garber, Iowa. In infancy she was baptized in the Lutheran Church at Elkport and at the age of 14 was confirmed at Garnavillo.

On February 26, 1903, she was united in marriage to George Ziegler. The wedding took place in Monona. Five children were born to this union, three sons and two daughters. After her marriage she moved with her husband on a farm in Grand Meadow township. In 1925 she moved to her present home in Luana where she lived until the time of her death.

Despite some surgery about a year ago the deceased enjoyed good health. She became bedfast the last week of her life and passed away suddenly on February 27 at the age of 74 years, eight months and ten days.

The deceased was preceded in death by her husband on February 16, 1921.

She is survived by three sons, George of Fulton, Illinois, Weber of Moline, Illinois, and Charles of Luana; two daughters, Mrs. Henry Mueller of Luana and Mrs. Francis Donery of Ida Grove; two brothers, Henry Maack of Delaware, Iowa and Leon Maack of Grand Rapids, Michigan; six sisters, Mrs. Hanna Hartwig, of Earlville, Mrs. Sophia Jones of Santa Rosa, California, Mrs. Tena Sellers of Mohnoman, Minnesota, Mrs. Amanda Hackbarth and Mrs. Lena Dirks of Waterloo, and Mrs. Hulda Manson of New London, Minnesota; 18 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
