George W. Carlson, 70, rural McGregor, died Thursday afternoon, Jan. 4, 1990, at Memorial Hospital, Prairie du Chien, WI.
Mr. Carlson was a farmer and lifelong resident of rural McGregor. He was born Jan. 4, 1920, in McGregor, the son of Carl and Emma Lindemann Carlson. He married Eunice Nading Dec. 27, 1946, in McGregor.
Survivors include his wife, Eunice; four sons, Dennis of Oxford, IA, Richard of La Crosse, WI, David and Roger, both of McGregor; three daughters, Susan Thomas of Austin, TX; Sandra Steele and Sharon Hubank, both of Prairie du Chien; 14 grand-children and two great-grand-children; two brothers, Emil of Postville and Walter of Antioch, IL; and two sisters, Esther Palmer of Prairie du Chien and Marie McMillin of Elkader.
Services were held Sunday, Jan. 7, 1990, at 2 p.m. at First Ev. Lutheran Church on Swede Ridge, rural McGregor, with the Rev. Dan Christensen officiating. Olga Corlett was the organist. Burial was in the Church cemetery, rural McGregor. Pallbearers were Gene Gregerson, Kim Nading, Roger Palmer, Harold McMillin, Jr., Carlyle Reeg and Allen Wagner. Honorary pallbearers were Al Franz, Butch Peterson, Bob Eggen and Bob Klotzbach.
