Carleton (Dauby) Drallmeier, 67, for 38 years a McGregor businessman, died Feb. 20 at his home. He had owned and operated Dauby's Shoe Store on Main Street since March of 1934.
Born in McGregor April 5, 1914, he was a resident here all his life, with the exception of two years during World War II when he and his wife, Dorothy, who were married Sept. 3, 1934, were employed in Minneapolis, Minn.
Drallmeier was a 1932 graduate of McGregor High School and was a member of the First Congregational Church.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; three sisters, Mrs.Erwin (Emma) Drahn, Monona, Mrs. Ruby Robbins of Postville and Mrs. Helen Gilmore, Edmons, Wash.; nieces and nephews.
Services were held Monday, Feb. 22, at the First Congregational Church with Rev. Egon Gerdes officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
Active and honorary pall-bearers were John Luster, Owen Wright, Larry Brummel, David Engelhardt, Don Fritz, Dennis Denning, Stan Wells, Earl Pettit, Glen Zirbes, Lyle Moe, Jack Peterson, Elmer Peterson, Robert E. Coon, Stan Johnson and Dean Dull.
Arrangements were made by Thornburg Funeral Home.
