Francis Z. McMillin, 82, 532 Main Street, McGregor, died Apr. 29 at Memorial Hospital, Prairie du Chien.
He was born Jan. 18, 1905, to Frank McMillin and Catherine Riley.
Francis worked as a forester for the Iowa Conservation Commission at Yellow River Forest for many years. He retired in 1965. Francis was chief of the McGregor Volunteer Fire Department from 1952 to 1963. He was made an honorary fireman after his retirement.
His wife, Anna, died on Oct. 9, 1985.
Survivors are: one son, Ronald McMillin, Arlington, TX; one sister, Mrs. Mary Meehan, McGregor; and, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on May 2, 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary's Church, McGregor. Father Donald Hutchinson officated. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers and honoray pallbearers were members of th McGregor Fire Department.
