Leroy E. Thomas, 81, of rural Garnavillo died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 1982, at the Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 30, 1907 at McGregor to Michael and Cora Sawvell Thomas. He married Ethel Laufer in 1933. He was a retired farmer.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 3, at 11:00 a.m. at St.Mary's Catholic Church, McGregor, al Ia., Father Donald Hutchinson officiating and burial in the church cemetery. The Thornburg Funeral Home, McGregor was in charge of the arrangements with wake scripture services held Thursday evening.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel; two daughters, Arlene, Mrs. Robert Lowell of Highland, Ind., and Marcia, Mrs. Michael White of Summerville, S.C.; a son, Wayne, of rural McGregor; 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond of Lumberton, Texas, and William of Port Arthur, Texas. He was preceded in death by a daughter.
