Stanley G. Loper, 41, of Monona apparently died at his residence on or about Oct. 13, 1985.
His remains were found on July 4, 1991 on an island in the Mississippi, on the Iowa side of the river, in the vicinity of Wyalusing State Park.
Graveside committal services were held Tuesday at the Dubuque Memorial Gardens. Military honors were accorded by the American Legion Post 6 of Dubuque. The Dennis Kitchen Funeral Home in Dubuque were in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Loper was an independent trucker in Clayton County most of his adult life. He was a graduate of the Clayton County Schools, and an Army veteran.
Surviving are a son, Arlyn of Prairie du Chien; two grand-children, his mother, Mrs. Beverly Meana of Galena, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Michael (Dixie) Bosberg of Cuba City; and three brothers, Robert W. Meana of East Dubuque, Darrell Meana of Galena and Alan Meana of Monroe, Wis.
