Funeral services for Harvey Kuthe were held Thursday, May 10, 1984, 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona, with Pastor Harold 0. Ward officiating. Pallbearers were LeAllen Lange, James Tayek, Harland Kottman, Gene Kurth, Duane Lange, and John Potratz. Burial was in the Monona City Cemetery. Schultz's Funeral Home was in charge of services.

Harvey Arthur Kuthe, the son of Richard and Emma (Benzing) Kuthe, was born July 27, 1901 on a farm south of Monona. He was baptized Feb. 2, 1902 and confirmed April 1, 1917 at St. John Lutheran Church, Farmersburg, by Pastor G.F. Braun. He received his education at the Bismark and Froelich Rural School. On July 20, 1922 he was united in marriage to Irene Henkes at the Evangelical Parsonage, Monona. To this union two daughters were born. After finishing his education he hauled cream and after his marriage farmed on various farms in the Monona area, settling on his father's farm near Froelich, Iowa, in 1933, which they purchased and lived until retiring to Monona in 1949, where he lived until his death. He died Monday, May 7, 1984 at Community Memorial Hospital, Postville, having been a patient for the last six weeks.

Preceding in death were his parents, a brother Harry and infant sister Ruby, and a half sister Mrs. Will (Emma) Appel of Cresco, Iowa, and an infant granddaughter.

Surviving are his wife Irene, his two daughters, Mrs. Keith (Darlene) Kishman and Mrs. Harlin (Imogene) Bentien both of Monona, 5 grandchildren, Michael Bentien, Kevin Bentien, Mrs. Ronald (Sandra) Grady, all of Monona, Mrs. Steve (Shelby) Hass, McGregor; Mrs. Craig (Brenda) White, Waukon, 3 step grandchildren, Mrs. Michael (Carlean) Lange, Laone Kishman both of Monona, Mrs. Duana Bleeker, Colorado Springs, Col., 15 great grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren, 2 sisters Mrs. Hubert (Ruth) Sass of East Dubuque, Illinois, Mrs. Raymond (Adeline) Kottman, Monona, nieces, nephews and many relatives and friends.
