Dryer, Robert J., Sr. 1910 - 1985

Raymond J. Dryer, Sr., rural Garnavillo, died April 12 the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital.

He was born July 1, 1910, to William and Willihmeina Bankie Dryer in Elkport.

He married Velva Barker on October 31, 1931, in Lancaster, MO.

Surviving are: his wife, Velva; four daughters, Joanne Aulwes, Clarion, Delores Kincade, Glenwood, Florence DeMuth, Cedar Rapids, and Kay Johnson, Altoona, WI; three sons, Raymond, Jr., Guttenberg, Vincent, Worthington, and Dennis, Garnavillo; 24 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, April 14, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in McGregor with Pastor Mark Willig officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Jamie Aulwes, Vince Dryer, John J. DeMuth, Brad Johnson, Kenny Dryer, and Bob Kincade. The Thornburg Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
