Funeral services were conducted by Father Heineman on Thursday, October 11, 1973, 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Monona, for Katherine Tayek, who passed away on October 8, 1973, at the Postville Good Samaritan Home.

Katherine Tayek, daughter of Simon and Katherine Ambroz Moses was born in Chicago, Illinois, on November 16, 1878. Katherine was united in marriage to Joseph Tayek on February 10, 1903, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Monona. Mrs. Tayek reached the age of 94 years, 10 months and 22 days.

Surviving are her two sons, Vernon of Monona, and Edwin of McGregor, 4 grandchildren, Jerry and Jim of Monona, Bob of McGregor and Mrs. Robert (Joyce) Saacke, Farmersburg, two great-grandchildren. Joey and Jason Tayek of Monona.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Joe, 6 brothers, John, Joe, Albert, Jake, Simon and Tom, 3 sisters, Mrs. Joe (Annie) Lotza, Mrs. Bert (Mary) Ferguson, and Mrs. Wm. (Elizabeth) McClure, and a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Edwin (Lillian) Tayek.

Pallbearers were her nephews, Simon Moses, Wm. Moses, Sr., Fred Ferguson, Lawrence Moses, Sylvester Lotza and Wayne McClure. Burial was in the St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, rural McGregor.
