Funeral services for James Rose were held Thursday. September 3, 1981 at 10:30 a.m. St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Monona with Rev. Richard Bohr officiating. Pallbearers were Brad Koenig, Doug Koenig, Billy Shimek, Terry Wallser, Roger Tielbar, Cletus Rose, Joe Sweeney, and LeRoy Howard. Honorary pallbearers were Arnie Shimek and Willis Tielbar. Burial was in St. Patrick's Cemetery Schultz's Funeral Home was in charge of services.
James Joseph Rose, the son of Joe and Gertrude (Auer) Rose, was born October 15, 1942, at Monona. He was baptized and was member of St. Patrick' Catholic Church. He attended the Figgie school in his youth and graduate from MFL in 1960.
On April 29, 1967, he was united in marriage to Barbara Huntsinger at St. Patrick's. To this union three sons were born.
In 1964 he joined the Army and was honorably discharged in 1966. Jim was employed by the Milwauke Railroad for 11 years. He also was a member of the Buckaroo Band having played with them about 20 years.
Jim died Tuesday, September 1, 1981, at Community Memorial Hospital, Postville, having reached the age of 38 years, 10 months, 16 days. Preceeding him death were his grandparents and his brother Edward.
Surviving him are his wife Barbara; his three sons; Raymond Frances, Joseph Edward, and Scott Charles of Luana; his parents, Joe and Gertrude Rose of Monona; three brothers, William of Sandwich, Illinois, Thomas of Monona, and Tim of Harpers Ferry; five sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Donna) Murphy, St. Charles, Missouri, Mrs. Leon (Laura) Hildebrand, Earlville, Iowa, Mrs. Marvin (Ruth Ann) Widlund, Geneva, Minnesota, Mrs. Charles (Corrinne) Grady, Ham Lake, Minnesota, and Mrs. Jerry (Trudy) Nielsen, Ellendale, Minnesota; nieces; nephews, and other relatives and many friends.
