Services for Hildegarde Kishman, 88, were held Saturday, June 16, 1979, at Schultz's Funeral Home in Monona, with Pastor R.D. Ehlers presiding. Mrs. Kishman passed away June 13, 1979, at the Prairie Convalescent Center, Prairie du Chien, Wisc., where she resided following surgery in LaCrosse.
Pallbearers were Landry Kishman, Everett Drahn, Walter Drahn, Dean Hoferer, Lee Krambeer, Glen Palas, Ed Cordes, and Earl Corlett.
Hildegarde Pauline Kishman, the daughter of William and Augusta (Groth) Kaiser, was born March 8, 1891, in Farmersburg Township. She was baptized May 27, 1891 and confirmed by Pastor Bunge on October 15, 1905, at St. Paul Lutheran Church. She attended school in the area of National. Before marrying, she worked for Schultz's Furniture Store, was organist at the church, and played piano for the silent movies.
She was united in marriage to Werner Kishman on June 29, 1926, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monona. To this union, one son, Keith, was born. They spent their life on a farm southwest of Luana, and after her husband's death, Mrs. Kishman moved to Monona. She enjoyed gardening and fishing and loved to hear the birds sing. In the last years, Mrs. Kishman made her home with her son.
Preceeding her in death were her parents; her husband, Werner, who died April 23, 1948; nine brothers, William, Helmuth, Arthur, Emil, Julius, Arno, Ernie, Edmund and Raymond Kaiser; and two sisters, Elizabeth and Emelia Drahn.
Surviving are her son, Keith, his wife, Darlehe, two granddaughters, Carlean (Mrs. Michael Lange) of Monona, and Duana (Mrs. Everett Bleeker, Jr., of Postville); one grandson, Leone of Monona; two step-grand-daughters, Sandra (Mrs. Ronald Grady) and Brenda (Mrs. Craig White); seven step-great-grand-children; and three sisters, Frieda (Mrs. Carl G. I.(name not readable), and Else Kaiser of Monona,and Mrs. Irene Hoferer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
