Funeral services for George Duffy, 81, were held Tuesday morning, July 23, at 10 o'clock at St. Patrick's Catholic church with Father Peter Kirchoff of Prairie du Chien officiating at the mass.

Burial was in the adjoining church cemetery.
Mr. Duffy died Saturday night, July 30, at 9 o'clock at the McGregor hospital. He had been a patient there for two weeks as a result of having fractured a bone in a leg when he fell in his home, July 2.

He was born April 18, 1882, near Marquette, a son of James and Mary Farmer Duffy.
He was married Jan. 7, 1909, to Anna McGourty, who died March, 1946. They lived on a farm northeast of Monona for many years in Linton township, Allamakee county. He moved to Monona in 1958, living on East Center street at the time of his death.

Mr. Duffy served as Linton township assessor for several terms before retiring from farming.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Reiswinger and Alice Canoe, and four brothers, Thomas, John, William, and Lafe.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. C.A. (Madonna) Vicens of Englewood, N.J., and Mrs. Gertrude Cothran and Mrs. John (Catherine) Kindelin of Chicago, ILL.; a sister, Mrs. John (Ella) Whalen of McGregor; a brother, James of Phoenix, Ariz.; and seven grandchildren.

Music at the services was provided by the seventh and eighth grade choir of St. Patrick's school. Miss Eunice Swestka was the organist.
Pallbearers were Francis Grady, Richard Huffman, Joe Keppler, Lawrence Krueger, Paul Levenhagen, Ed McAndrew, Gaylord Moose, and Kelly Rittenhouse.

Among those from out of town attending the services were:
Mrs. Getrude Cothran, Ann Cothran, Mr. and Mrs. John Kindelin, and Mrs. Celia A. Carroll of Chicago, ILL.; Mr. and Mrs. John Whalen. Mr. and Mrs. Ed McAndrew, Mrs. Mary Grady, Mrs. Mary Finnegan, and Hugh McGuire of McGregor;
Mr. and Mrs. Bernard C. Sullivan, Don Sullivan of Rockford; and Mrs. Dick Daly, Mrs. Maurice Gayther, Mrs. Roy Majewski, and Alice Majewski of Charles City.

Anna V. (McGourty) Duffy was born 1879 Apr 08 and died 1946 Mar 31. Buried St. Patrick cemetery, Monona. Married to George Duffy.
