Vida Marjorie Foster ws born December 18, 1894, on Pleasant Ridge, near McGregor. She was the daughter of Amel and Lulu (Walters) Kersten. She received her educaton at the rural school at Pleasant Ridge, and was a member of the McGregor United Methodist Church and of the WSCS.
On June 6, 1916, she was united in marriage to Homer G. Foster. To this union two children were born. She and Homer were life-long residents of this area. They farmed until Homer's death on June 20, 1978. Then she went to live with her daughter, Marjorie.
She died April 1, 1985, after a short illness. Preceding her in death was her husband, her parents, and four sisters.
Surviving is her son, Dexter of Minneapolis; her daughter, Mrs. Tom (Marjorie) O'Heron of Sioux Falls, SD; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Funeral services were held on Friday, April 5, at Schultz's Funeral Home, Monona, with Rev. Wayne Wasta officiating. Burial in the Council Hill Cemetery, rural McGregor.
