Lucille Canoe, 81, died Sept. 6, at her home in Montana. She was born June 25, 1900 in Onawa, the daughter of Thomas and Ellen Barker Rickettes. She married Raymond Canoe on April 30, 1924 at the Pleasant Ridge Church near McGregor.
Mrs. Canoe was a member of the Garden City United Methodist church of Monona. She was preceeded in death by her parents and a twin sister.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond, and three daughters: Mrs. Fred (Vivian) Nuehring of Farmersburg, Mrs. Gerald (Gretta) Baxter of Waukon, and Mrs. Stanley (Ellen) Ferguson of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Robert Rickettes of Boscobel, Wis., 10 grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Sept. 10 at Garden City United Methodist Church in Monona with REv. Carroll Brown officiating. Pallbearers were Floyd Wilkens, Kenneth Cahoon, Jason Ferguson, Vernon Kolbe, George Erbe, Don Colby. Honorary pallberers were Elgie Ferguson, Fred Ferguson, Lee Wilkins, Wilbur Wilkins. Burial was in the Monona City Cemetery Schultzs Funeral Home was in charge of services.
