Charles Denning Rites Were Held at Monona
Funeral services for Charles Denning, 83, who passed away at the McGregor hospital last Tuesday, were held in the Schultz funeral home in Monona last Thursday afternoon. Burial was in Council Hill cemetery.Charles Barron Denning was born on Pleasant Ridge, Mendon township March 10, 1874, as the son of James and Elizabeth Sawvell Denning. He followed farming all of his lifetime, living on the same farm continuously. He obtained his education in the Pleasant Ridge rural school and for many years served as a director of that school district. He also served as a trustee for Mendon township and on the election board at Marquette.
Mr. Denning was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Frank and Orrin, and three sisters, Elsie, Zelda (Mrs. Ray Cahoon), and Henrietta (Mrs. Frank Keen). Surviving him are a sister, Amanda (Mrs. John Knapp) of McGregor, and a brother Leonard Denning, of McGregor, as well as many distant relatives and friends.
