Funeral services for Rose Mae Niewoehner, age 92, were held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 23 at the Schultz Funeral Home in Monona, Iowa. Pastor Craig Bowyer officiated. Burial was in the Council Hill Cemetery, in rural Monona, Iowa near Watson.

Rose Mae, daughter of Arthur and Edna (Love) Adney, was born April 26, 1905 in McGregor, Iowa. She received her education at Knapp School, McGregor, Iowa. On June 27, 1932 she married Alvin Niewoehner at Galena, Illinois.

Rose Mae Niewoehner died Tuesday, January 20, 1998 at Community Memorial Hospital in Sumner, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alvin who died August 22, 1996, four brothers, Walter Adney, Henry Adney, Irwin Adney, and Charles Adney, and a sister Clara Schellsmidt.

Rose Mae is survived by her 2 sons, Kenneth (Erletta) Niewoehner of Canon City, Colorado, and Everett (Janie) Niewoehner of Dickson, Tennessee, 1 daughter, Vernice (Paul) Hardacre of Bradenton, Florida; 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; 1 brother Archie Adney of McGregor, Iowa and 1 sister, Bertha Albers of Thornton, Iowa.
