Word has been received here of the death of Alfred Clinton Van Sickle, aged 77, who passed away recently at Chili, Wisconsin. He was very well known as "Clint" in and around McGregor about twenty five years ago. He lived on his farm on the Bloody Run Creek.
Alfred Clinton Van Sickle was born at Terre Haute, Indiana. He came to the vicinity of McGregor in about 1885, and was married in 1890 to Margaret Ann Motheral, daughter of John and Esther Motheral of Pleasant Ridge. Four children were born to them, John, Esther, James and Theodore. Esther, now Mrs. W.H. Wright of Seattle, Wash., and James of Lake Linden, Michigan, survive.
Mr. Van Sickle farmed near Marquette for 18 or 20 years and at the death of his wife, who was an invalid and died in about 1910, he and his two young children, Esther and James, moved to Madison.
Later he married Mrs. Lenora Johns McGuire of Charleston, Ill., and they farmed in the north central section of Wisconsin. Three children were born to them, Alfred, who is in the U.S. Army near Seattle; Claire of Charleston, Ill., and Nina of Lloyd, Wis., all of whom survive. Mrs. Lenora Van Sickle is now also deceased.
McGregor friends are grieved to hear of the passing away of Mr. Van Sickle [remainder cut off]
