Adelia Hultgren
Mrs. Arthur (Adelia) Hultgren, 84, of McGregor, died Sunday evening, March 5, in Great River Care Center here, where she and her husband resided.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. today in the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Swede Ridge, by pastor Charles Ager. Burial was in Norwegian Cemetery, rural McGregor.
Grandsons serving as the pallbearers were Gerald and Bobby Henkes, Duane Clough, Dixon Smith and Roger and David Beyhl.
Thornburg Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
A lifelong area resident, Mrs. Hultgren once worked at the old McGregor Community Hospital and in the hot lunch program in the local school. She also served as a midwife.
The former Adelia Eggen was born Dec. 18, 1893, to Ollie and Olive (Long) Eggen. She and Mr. Hultgren were married Aug. 6, 1910, in the home of her parents.
Surviving are her husband, a retired farmer and former Milwaukee Road employee; one son, Richard of Cedar Rapids; four daughters, Mrs. Clyde (Alice) Clough of Dubuque, Mrs. Carroll (Irene) Henkes of McGregor, Mrs. Harry (Jean) Smith of Rockford, Ill., and Mrs. Fred (Delores) Beyhl of East Moline, Ill; one sister Mrs. Minetta Wilder of Preston, Minn.; 30 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
