Funeral services for Adele Mueller, age 93, of Garnavillo, Iowa, were held October 30, 1990 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Garnavillo with Pastor Tom Jones officiating. Burial was in the Garnavillo Cemetery. Pallbearers were David Monroe, Sheryl Zittergruen, Dennis Mueller, Bruce Mueller, Craig Mueller, and Lynn Ihde.

Adele Sophia, daughter of Otto and Anna (Neubauer) Hamann, was born February 28, 1897 four miles north of Garnavillo, Iowa. She graduated from Garnavillo High School in 1915. On March 17, 1917 Adele was united in marriage to Lloyd H. Mueller at the family farm, rural Garnavillo. She was a Sunday School teacher for 40 years. She was a teacher for a year in 1916 and helped her husband farm.

Adele passed away October 27, 1990 at the Guttenberg Care Center in Guttenberg, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lloyd, who died December 6, 1955; 3 sisters, Amelia Kugel, Lucy Seeland, and Ann Maria Seeland; 2 brothers, Harvey Hamann and Irwin Hamann and grandchildren.

Adele is survived by a daughter, Ariel (Marvin) Zittergruen of Monona, Iowa; 2 sons, Harold L. Mueller of Garnavillo, Iowa and Gene H. Mueller of Sieverville, Tennessee; 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
