Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Funeral services for John Charles Fisk of Monona, Iowa were held Tuesday, May 14 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Monona. Officiating were Pastor Elwin Farwell and Father John Moran. Honorary pallbearers were Keith Pederson, Richard Fisk, Virgil Eide, Mylan Cummins, Roger Bucholz, and Richard Bucholz. Pallbearers were Tony Mueller, Steve Johanningmeier, John Ryan, Bill Benda, Arlen Nuehring, Floyd Wilkins, and Wayne Mielke. Burial was in the Monona City Cemetery. Schultz Funeral Home, Monona, Iowa was in charge of services.
John Charles Fisk, son of John Chester and Nora (Joyce) Fisk, was born March 29, 1927 in Lisbon, North Dakota. He received his education in the Lisbon school. John served in the U.S. Army Medical Corp from 1945 to 1947. On June 7th, 1952 John was united in marriage to Betty Temple in Moorhead, Minnesota. To this union were born 5 children. John worked as an auto mechanic for Anderson Pontiac in Moorhead, Minnesota and Steffey Buick in Anaheim, California until retiring as a mechanic after 38 years. They recently made their home in Monona, Iowa
John died Saturday, May 11, 1991 at the Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin Memorial Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Robert Fisk.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; 1 daughter, Paula Weber of Moorhead, Minnesota; 4 sons, Timothy Fisk, and Curtis Fisk, both of Monona, Iowa, Paul Fisk of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Kevin Fisk of California; 12 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Archie Fisk in Florida, Albert Fisk in Lewistown, Montana, and William Fisk of West Fargo, North Dakota; and 3 sisters, Mary Eitzwiler in Florida, Betty Seeley of Guelph, North Dakota, and Gladys Funk of Lisbon, North Dakota.
