VERNON, SPANGLER, HUTCHENS, DEGROOT, SCHWIETERT

Texas City - Martha H. Vernon, 63, of San Leon died Sunday at Mainland Center Hospital in Texas City. Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at James Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson. Burial wil follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Dickinson. Visitation is 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Born Feb 6, 1928 in McGregor, Iowa, Ms. Vernon was a devoted mother. She was a resident of San Leon for three years and was a former longtime resident of Dickinson. Survivors include daughters, Nancy Vernon Spangler and Linda Vernon Spangler of Dickinson; sons, Robert Michael Vernon and Matt Stanley Vernon of San Leon and Brian Allen Vernon of Dickinson; sisters, Elsie Hutchens of Mira Loma, Calif, and Ruth DeGroot of Leneka, Kan.; brother, Harry Schwietert of McGregor; and seven grandchildren.
