William Winkowitsch Dead.

The following from the White (S.D.) Leader of April 8th, relates the passing of a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Winkowitsch, former residents of this locality, but now living at Bruce, S.D.:

William Winkowitsch, born May 1, 1883, in Farmersburg, Iowa, died April 3, 1915, at his home in Sterling twp., after an illness of about 15 months, his age being 31 years, 11 months and two days. Death was caused by dropsy.

On December 23, 1904, he was united in marriage to Rensche Arands, who with the three children born to the union mourn the loss of a dear husband and father.

In 1909 he with his family moved in the neighborhood of White, S.D., where they lived for a brief time, then moving in the vicinity of the German Methodist church in Sterling twp., of which he then became a member by certificate.

Mr. Winkowitsch was reared in a christian family, where the foundation was laid for a solid christian character. In 1904 under the influence of the Evangelical Association he was converted to a devoted christian life, and to these teachings his life as a husband, father an dman of affairs bear witness of his faithfulness.

When early in the morning of April 3rd he felt that he must part of his loved ones, he had them all called to his bedside and bid them good bye, begged them not to weep and said, "For I am now going home where I shall be so much better off." He then asked his three little children to "Be good christians, and be good to mama." Then looking upward he sang. "I'm going home" with the expression of great joy on his face he said, "O, what a beautiful home" and passed away.

The large attendance at the funeral service, and the floral gifts by his friends, the church and Yeoman lodge bore witness to his worth. The funeral services were held in White German M.E. church Tuesday last at 1:00 p.m., Rev. F.J. Hoffman having charge of the service and speaking in both languages from Rev. 7, 9:15. Interment was made in Fairview cemetery.
