Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Masonic services were held Monday, January 22 at Schultz Funeral Home in Monona, Iowa at 11:00 a.m. for Edward Franklin Busch. Brotherly Love Masonic Lodge #204 conducted the services. Burial was in the Farmersburg-Wagner Cemetery, Farmersburg, Iowa. Pallbearers were Lodge members: Charlie Fick, Robert Smith, Kermit Klinge, Walter Blazek, Bill Baskerville, Leo Christofferson. Schultz Funeral Home handled all arrangements.
Edward Franklin Busch *The surname spelling in the heading of this obituary used BUSH, but in the obituary information, it was always listed as BUSCH. In looking at other sources, it has been used both ways.* was born October 12, 1907 in Chester, South Dakota to William and Mary (Schmidt) Busch. He was raised on a farm east of St. Olaf, Iowa. He received his elementary education in rural Mecklenburg School and graduated from Elkader High School. Edward farmed on his family farm near St. Olaf until retiring in 1962. He moved to Farmersburg following his retirement. He was a member of Brotherly Love Lodge in Postville, Iowa.
Edward died at his home in Farmersburg, Iowa on Saturday, January 20, 1990. Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, Theresa.
Surviving is his son, Brad Busch of Strawberry Point, Iowa; 3 grandchildren, Colleen, Ann, and Laura; and 1 brother, Harvey Busch of St. Olaf, Iowa.
NOTE: There was no mention of his marriage, the name of his wife, if she passed away, or if they were divorced.
