MARTIE, SCHNEIDER, BUTIKOFER, REIERSON, WANDER

Fred Joseph Martie was born Oct. 15, 1902, to Louis and Louisa (Schneider) Martie.

He spent most of his life farming and later a trapper by trade until his health failed.

In December, 1967, he went to live with his sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer
Butikofer, where he was until August, 1976, when he entered the Good Samaritan Home, West Union IA. Mr. Martie became ill Friday morning, Jan. 27, entered the Palmer Memorial Hospital, where he died that evening at the age of 75 years.

Mr. Martie lived a quiet, humble life, seldom complaining.

He leaves three sisters, Marie Reierson. Celia (Mrs. Joseph) Wander and Lydia (Mrs. Elmer) Butikofer, seven nephews, three nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents, one nephew, Gene Wander, and a brother-in-law, Ole Reierson.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 31, at the Apostolic Christian Church with local ministers officiating. Casket bearers were Glen Reierson, Clarence Reierson, Donald Reierson, Robert Reierson, Gerald Wander, Keith Wander.
