Funeral services for Helen Larson were held Thursday, September 16, 1993, 10:30 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Luana, Iowa. Rev. Ted Ager officiated. Honorary pallbearers were Don Wirkler and William Baskerville. Pallbearers were Duaine Davis, Harold Davis, Curtis Kraus, LeRoy Luepker, John Waterman, and Dan Schweikert. Burial was in the St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery in Luana, Iowa. Schultz Funeral Home of Monona, Iowa was in charge of services.

Helen Amanda, daughter of Karl and Elizabeth (Lembke) Erb, was born December 7, 1919 near Luana, Iowa. She was baptized January 4, 1920 by Pastor Kumpf and confirmed June 23, 1935, also by Pastor Kumpf. She received her education at the Luana School. Helen was united in marriage to Oscar Arthur Larson on August 25, 1937 at the St. John parsonage in Luana, Iowa. To this union three sons were born. The couple farmed in the Clermont, Iowa and Luana areas, retiring in 1966. She enjoyed gardening and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. She worked as a custodian at the MFL school for several years.

Helen died Saturday, September 11, 1993 at the Crofton Convalescent Center, Crofton, Maryland. She had reached the age of 73 years, 9 months, and 4 days. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Oscar, who died November 22, 1976; a brother, Elmer Erb; and 2 sisters, Louise Davis and Dorleen Erb, who died in infancy.

Survivors include three sons and their wives, Larry (Leanna) Larson of Monroe, Wisconsin, Roger (Melanie) Larson of Hagerstown, Maryland and Steve (Cheryl) Larson of Dubuque, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; a sister, Frances Stockburger of Luana, Iowa.
