Funeral services were held Friday, August 1 for Earl Glenn Allert, age 95, who died Monday July 28, 1997 at Northgate Care Center in Waukon, Iowa. The 11 a.m. services were held at Garden City United Methodist Church in Monona, Iowa, conducted by Dr. Gary Dobbins. Burial was in the Monona City Cemetery with Schultz Funeral Home handling arrangements. Casket bearers were Herbert Trappe, Robert Dull, Daniel Moore, Steven Moore, Robert Moses, and Robert Trappe.

Earl was born June 9, 1902 in Franklin Township, Allamakee County, Iowa to Edward and Clara (Schiff) Allert. Earl attended Monona High School. He and Clara Hefner were married November 18, 1925 at Volney. Earl worked as an electrician, seed corn dealer, and he farmed for many years.

He is preceded in death by his wife Clara, who died May 10, 1991; a daughter, Lee LaVonne King; his parents; a brother Orville Allert; a grandson and a great-granddaughter.

Earl is survived by 2 sons, Russell Edward Allert of Des Moines, Iowa and Bobby Dean Allert of Monona, Iowa and 3 grandchildren.
