Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 22 at St. Paul Lutheran Church for Alice Roseline Kluth. Pastors Bill and Kristine Schroeder officiated. Burial was in the Farmersburg-Wagner Cemetery, rural Farmersburg, Iowa. Schultz Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Michael Carroll, Virgil Hefner, Gene Nevermann, Lorin Dettmann, Robert Ball, and Ralph Corlett.
Alice Roseline was born December 13, 1917 in Marquette, Iowa to Amon and Rosie (Rickleff) Balzell. She received her education at the Marquette School. On June 21, 1937 she married Everett Kluth at St. John Lutheran Church in Farmersburg, Iowa. They lived on a farm near Farmersburg from June 1937 to December 1947. They lived in McGregor, Iowa before moving to Monona in 1983. Everett died July 9, 1984. Alice suffered a stroke in 1993 and in 1996, she moved to the home of her daughter Irene in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.
She died Sunday April 18, 1999 at the Great River Care Center in McGregor, Iowa. In addition to her husband, Alice was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Raymond Balzell.
Survivors are 2 daughters, Irene Kluth of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin and Juanita (Joseph) Greener of Des Moines, Iowa; a son Everett Kluth, Jr. of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin; 3 grandchildren and a sister, Alta Konichek of Blue River, Wisconsin.
