Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)A private family committal service was held Monday, October 14, 1991 at the Monona City Cemetery, Monona, Iowa for Carrie Louise Ingels, age 99. Rev. Gary Dobbins officiated. Schultz Funeral Home in Monona was in charge of the arrangements.
Carrie Louise was born November 25, 1891 near Monona, Iowa to Alvin and Nellie (Smith) Olmsted. She received her education in Monona and attended teachers college in Waukon, Iowa. On February 22, 1911 Carrie was united in marriage to Clarence Ingels. To this union three daughters were born. The couple resided in Iowa all their lives.
Carrie died Sunday October 13, 1991 at the Good Samaritan Center in Postville, Iowa where she resided the last five years. Preceding her in death was her husband, Clarence, who died March 6, 1953, 5 siblings who died in infancy, a brother Alvin Olmsted, Jr., and 2 sisters, Harriet Shadle, and Mary Burroughs Rinker.
She is survived by her 3 daughters, Vivian Ruckhaber of Luana, Iowa, Lillian Taylor of Harpers Ferry, Iowa and Doris Goudy of Maynard, Iowa; 7 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great grandchildren.
Note: Prior to posting this obituary, I referred to the previous postings. In this obituary, and the posting for her mother, her husband is listed as "Clarence". However, in HIS obituary, his name is listed as "Charles W. Ingels". Also, in this obituary one of her daughters is listed as Lillian Taylor but in her father's obituary, it is listed as Claire Taylor. Since I am not a relative, I can not explain these differences.
